Jinglebells with little horse head and horse hair plumes in red and white
Product description
At the end of the 1800s and beginning of the 1900s, trotting was a source of income for many people. Friesian horses proved to be extremely well suited to this discipline. In winter, trotting was performed in front of a horse-drawn sleigh. These sleigh races were major events at the time. In addition to money, participants could also win prizes such as silver harness fittings and bells. The frozen water also provided many people with a way to travel faster. Instead of a carriage, they opted for a beautiful sleigh decorated with lots of finery and loud bells.
These bell shawls are made entirely by hand and can also be made in the color of your choice. The plumes are handmade from hand-dyed real horsehair. The shawl is fitted with bells of various sizes to create a varied sound when the horse moves.
